What Makes Scentsy Warmers Different?
Scentsy warmers ARE different than what you can find in a big box store. For starters, they are made in China for a reason. The clay used to form the warmers is only found in a specific region of China. This is where we Westerners got the idea of Fine China dishes. The artisans that Scentsy uses to hand-craft these warmers have been doing this type of work for generations. These artisans are also some of the most highly paid and sought out workers. When you want the best you go to the source. Hand-crafted, hand-painted, premium products.
Scentsy warmers also use a lower wattage power than other warmers.
That means that the amount of power used is lower, costing less than 0.15 cents per day to operate 24 hours a day. It also means that the warmers do their thang at a lower temperature. No burned hands or fingers and no need to turn off after a few hours of use. Most other warmers have a warning on the box of “Turn off after 4 hours of continuous use.” Not Scentsy. You can leave it on 24/7 as it’s no different than a small table lamp in mechanics.
The final and most important difference in Scentsy warmers vs. other warmers is the Lifetime Warranty. If your warmer ever quits working due to mechanical failure, Scentsy will replace it for free. If your warmer style is no longer available, Scentsy will replace it with a comparable price warmer that is current and to your liking. You tell me what store you can take a warmer back to 5 years later for replacement.
Wax Bar Ingredients - Main Differences
Scentsy Bars are made from a proprietary recipe. The wax used is a food-grade parrafin that is manufactured specifically for Scentsy. It is brought to the manufacturing facility in Meridian, Idaho via railroad tanker cars. It’s quite an impressive feat to see the transfer to the internal holding tanks.
Scentsy uses all natural fragrance oils when possible. Synthetic aldehydes (the fancy word for smell good molecules) are only used when it is impossible to proccur the natural resources. If a natural oil is too costly for the consumer or if it will negatively impact the environment (think depleting natural resources) then Scentsy will always do the responsible thing and use a synthetic oil. You can rest assured that even though a synthetic oil may be used it has been cleared by multiple safety watch dog organizations first.
Scentsy Bars are authentic due to the high quality parrafin blend of wax used to have maximum scent load capabilities. That means that YOU get the best, longest lasting scent experience safely in your environment.
Where Can I Get Scentsy Products?
You will not find authentic Scentsy wax in the big box stores. While these other retailers may indeed carry similar products, there’s a reason that Scentsy uses unique ingredients (backed by science).
Other brands use a completely different type of wax than what is used by Scentsy. A much harder candle wax, in fact. This type of wax requires a higher heating temperature, therefore a hotter to the touch warmer. Soy and beeswax also do not have the high scent loading capabilities of Scentsy wax.
An authentic Scentsy bar is 8 cubes of wax with a total volume of 3.2 Fl. Oz. Each cube has a fragrant warming time of approximately 8 hours (some last much longer depending on the fragrance chosen. ).
Often the other available wax products are 6 cubes with a total volume of 2.5 Fl. Oz. In my personal experience (yes, I’ve cheated. Shhhh!) each cube has a fragrant warming time of approximately 4 hours.
Which do I prefer? 64 hours of top quality Scentsy fragrance or 24 hours of mild scent? I think you know my answer!
How do I spot knock off Scentsy Bars or Products?
Scentsy is the authority in wickless warmers and wax bars. It has a long history of quality and satisfaction as a brand. So much so, that many people refer to any type of knockoff warmers and wax melts as Scentsy. I get requests all the time from people wanting to have their broken warmer replaced only to tell them that they don’t have an authentic Scentsy warmer. Bummer…
All Scentsy warmers have the Scentsy logo embossed on the back of the warmer. All mini warmer bases have the logo imprinted on them as well. Plus, Scentsy Corporate Offices has image files of every single warmer ever produced.
If you are comparing wax bars you can always press your finger down on the Scentsy wax and feel it give as it is purposely softer for a lower melting point. All other wax “melts” are made of a harder type of candle wax that will not give in the slightest when pressed. And that intense Scentsy scent will be evident upon opening of a bar. Other guys, well…you can smell something.
Are there certain instructions to use Scentsy that make them different from other home fragrance products?
Scentsy mechanical products are different in two very different and important ways.
- Scentsy warmers, the Scentsy Go, and Scentsy Diffusers have a Lifetime Warranty against mechanical defect. If the products ever stop working, due to mechanical issues, they will be replaced by Scentsy. We stand behind the quality of the brand.
- Scentsy products do not have a warning against constant use. The warmers can be left on 24 hours a day. Check the warning labels on other brands. The Scentsy Go and Diffuser have an auto-shut off mechanism. Safety is the number one priority, followed by quality and satisfaction.
Can I find Scentsy scents in another brand?
Most scents are unique to only Scentsy. No one does Blueberry Cheesecake like Scentsy! However, widely used fragrance notes like vanilla or lemon, are often found in other brands. The difference between Scentsy and other brands is the quality and amount of the fragrance oils used. No other brand can match the pure, long lasting, intensity of Scentsy fragrance.
This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for.
